The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and optimize Stellar Core, the backbone of the Stellar network. You’ll work on high‑performance distributed systems, contributing to consensus, scalability, and security, with a strong emphasis on code quality and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development on a team.
• Strong C++ or Rust production experience.
• Clear communicator who can lead technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core.
• Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
• Collaborate on architectures with CTO and open‑source contributors.
• Write clean, maintainable code with edge‑case analysis.
• Own core subsystems of Stellar Core and meet product milestones.
• Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
• Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks to scale the system.
• Draft RFCs and contribute to design processes.
