Job summary

Equinix, Inc. in Denver seeks a Staff Software Engineer to build easy to operate, reliable high-performing applications and networking software for our next-generation networking platform.

You will work with a team to build scalable distributed systems and deliver network primitives on network-adjacent platforms. You’ll contribute tests and observability, collaborate on design reviews, and participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and drive innovation across our global

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software development for reliable distributed systems
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience
• Experience building multi-tenant networking platforms at scale with cloud-native tech
• Understanding of L2/L3 networking (BGP, EVPN, IPsec)
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with public cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Golang expertise for backend services
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design ecosystem of software services to extend networking platforms
• Collaborate to design scalable distributed systems
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions
• Build solid unit/integration tests for CI/CD pipelines
• Identify technical debt and improve software quality
• Work with support/ops for production observability and reliability
• Contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration
• Participate in incident management and on-call rotations
• Engage with cross-functional teams to deliver impact
