Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build reliable, high-performing networking and cloud-native software for our next-generation platform. You will design scalable services, work on distributed systems, and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You will collaborate across teams to deliver production-ready software, participate in incident response, and advance Equinix’s global network infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development and designing highly reliable distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience building software-defined multi-tenant networking platforms at scale using cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and extend software services to enhance Equinix’s networking capabilities.
• Collaborate to design scalable distributed systems and perform code reviews.
• Contribute tests and ensure CI/CD pipelines deliver code efficiently.
• Identify technical debt and improve software quality.
• Support production operations with observability and incident handling.
• Participate in on-call rotations and cross-functional collaboration.
