Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to build reliable, scalable networking software for our next generation platform. You will design, implement and operate multi-tenant services, and mentor engineers to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role focuses on network-adjacent compute, cloud-native tech, and improving performance across our global data center network.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of software development experience in distributed systems.
• BS/MS in CS or related field or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience building cloud-native, multi-tenant networking platforms at scale.
• Deep understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols (BGP, EVPN, IPsec).
• Experience with gRPC and Netconf.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud providers.
• Leadership and mentoring of development teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop software services to extend networking platforms for multi-tenant use.
• Design and manage networking software in highly concurrent, scalable systems.
• Align technical design with business outcomes to meet SLAs.
• Lead and set up CI/CD pipelines with unit and integration tests.
• Develop an observability strategy for services.
• Improve system performance using profiling and stress testing.
• Identify technical debt and drive code quality improvements.
• Collaborate on proof-of-concept projects and guide new tech investments.
• Partner with support teams to ensure production operability and reliability.
• Promote innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
