Job summary

Equinix, the world’s digital infrastructure company, seeks a Staff Engineer, Product Software to design, develop, and support software products and solutions. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into robust systems.

You will drive integration, testing, and deployment, advocate modern engineering standards, and contribute to technology evaluations, while communicating effectively across stakeholders and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in Java and the Java Spring framework.
• Solid understanding of OSI layers and networking concepts.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts.
• Experience with REST API development.
• Experience with messaging services such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker and virtualization technologies.
• Agile-Scrum methodology experience.
• DevOps and CI/CD experience and knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support software products and solutions.
• Develop unit test plans, test suites, and perform tests on software solutions.
• Integrate software product(s) with other systems, test interfaces, and manage version control.
• Interact with stakeholders to understand and document product features.
• Resolve bugs, engage in troubleshooting, and collaborate with the internal developer community.
• Assist in analysis and evaluation of new technologies to meet product roadmap and technology platform goals.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies for product features and platform.
• Advocate and follow best design and development practices adhering to engineering standards.
• Act as a self‑starter, collaborate in a team, and communicate effectively.
• Participate in design and peer code review processes.
