Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in software development, preferably building & operating distributed systems.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science or relevant engineering field or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in building software defined multi-tenant networking platforms at scale using cloud-native technologies.
• Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and concepts (BGP, EVPN, IPSEC, etc).
• Experience with network management protocols: gRPC, Netconf.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalents.
• Experience with public cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Expertise in automating deployments of apps into Kubernetes on x86 deployments.
• Experience with open source networking technologies and communities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in designing an ecosystem of software services to extend Equinix's networking capabilities.
• Collaborate to design and implement scalable distributed systems.
• Engage in design reviews to maintain high-quality code.
• Contribute unit and integration tests to CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify technical debt and drive quality improvements.
• Work with ops teams to ensure production readiness and observability.
• Foster innovation and collaboration across teams.
• Participate in incident management and troubleshooting in production.
• Join on-call rotation when in production.
