Job summary

BoxCast seeks a Software + Infrastructure Engineer to develop, test, deploy, and maintain our backend systems and microservices, while running cloud operations to ensure reliable service.

You will monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, integrate BoxCast with SaaS apps like Stripe, HubSpot, and Datadog, and stay current with cloud and AI technologies to inform architecture decisions. This is a hybrid role with US remote options and occasional on‑site collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience.
• Expertise in video and audio live streaming technologies.
• Back-end languages - Go, TypeScript, and Ruby.
• Infrastructure-as-code - Terraform or CloudFormation/CDK.
• Virtualization/containerization technologies - Docker.
• Cloud technologies - AWS EC2, ECS, S3 and Lambda.
• AWS networking - ALB/NLB, VPC, security groups, and CloudFront.
• Monitoring/alerting/telemetry systems - Datadog, InfluxDB, Grafana, and Opensearch.
• SaaS app integration - API, webhooks, and logging.
• SQL and databases - MySQL.
• Availability to participate in on-call rotations on Sunday mornings and during other peaks.
• A desire to solve complex problems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain back-end systems and microservices that support our products and the overall BoxCast experience.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and tune systems during volume peaks and outages, with on‑call rotations.
• Integrate BoxCast systems with our SaaS apps (Stripe, HubSpot, Avalara, Intercom, PandaDoc, ShipStation, Atlassian, Datadog).
• Stay up to date with key technologies and assess their potential benefit for our platform.
• Execute excellently by participating in planning, status, and review meetings to deliver high value.
• Mentor and learn by sharing expertise with teammates.
• Collaborate with product designers, software and hardware engineers, and business leaders to advance BoxCast’s vision.
