Ladders is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Continuous Integration) to shape the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of CI platforms across the engineering organization. You will work with software and infrastructure teams to improve builds, automate delivery, and remove friction in the delivery pipeline.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in CI/build systems or developer productivity domains.
• Strong knowledge of modern build systems like GitHub or Buildkite.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies (AWS, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Proficient in Python, Kotlin, or Java.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and balancing long- and short-term goals.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience managing build systems for large monorepos.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Continuous Integration) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will shape the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of the systems that power continuous integration across the engineering organization. You will work closely with software and infrastructure teams to improve build performance, strengthen automation, and remove friction from the delivery pipeline. The ideal candidate brings deep backend engineering experience and a strong understanding of modern CI platforms, cloud-native infrastructure, and large-scale build environments.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $181,000 – $241,000 annually
