Axion is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead agile backend teams building scalable AI-powered systems that transform complex data into reliable outputs. You will shape APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure while improving reliability and observability.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and partner with product and customer teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions that scale with the company.

Qualifications

8+ years of production backend or data-intensive systems experience.
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
Experience designing distributed, asynchronous data-processing systems.
Experience deploying and operating containerized applications on a major cloud platform.

Responsibilities

Design and evolve scalable AI-powered systems that move, transform, and enrich data across products.
Partner with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Own the reliability and delivery of cloud-native services, including deployment, observability, scalability, and production support.
Mentor engineers and lead cross-team technical initiatives from architecture through production.
