Job summary

Partly is hiring a Staff or Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead critical systems in our Austin office. You’ll own end-to-end architecture, drive cross-team initiatives, and write production code that raises the engineering bar.

You’ll shape scalable backend platforms, design for reliability, and mentor engineers across teams while delivering high-impact features for our repair-focused AI stack.

Responsibilities

• Own mission-critical systems end to end, design, build and operate SaaS platform and public API.
• Set technical direction beyond your own team across services and teams, defining reliability and performance trade-offs.
• Direct the work by breaking problems into executable scope, reviewing designs, and shaping what ships.
• Solve problems at the scale of the domain, with millions of parts and multilingual configurations.
• Build the platform Interpreter runs on, enabling a frontier model for thousands of businesses.
• Work across the stack with deep backend and data work and customer-facing surfaces.
• Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, mentoring and pragmatic standards.
• Become a domain expert, shaping a $2tn market that is largely unmodelled.
