Job summary

Broadcom is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for VMware Cloud Foundation, focusing on operations and management features for private cloud environments. You will architect, design, implement, and provide technical leadership across an agile team.

You will apply AI-driven development methods, build end-to-end features with high quality and scale, and mentor peers, while driving delivery in a fast-paced startup-like setting. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field with 12+ years of experience, or MS with 10+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience in an AI-Driven Development Life Cycle (ADLC) using AI coding agents.
• Proven track record of designing and deploying enterprise-grade agentic applications with LLM/SLM models.
• Expertise in Context Engineering and building RAG and MCP architectures.
• Experience in harness engineering including model routing, agent execution loop, tool integration, safety guardrails and memory management.
• Strong backend skills in Java, Spring, Hibernate; scalable, reliable systems.
• Familiarity with Angular or React web frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Research & evaluate new technologies for delivering new features.
• Participate in architectural design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional distributed teams for product development.
• Guide and mentor other engineers on technology and coding practices.
• Work in an Agile environment and rapidly prototype ideas for enterprise-grade capabilities.
