Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead and contribute to building our next-generation digital platform within CVS Health Digital. You will act as both Technical Lead and Individual Contributor to deliver scalable microservices and cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities include designing architectures, code reviews, CI/CD automation, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with architects and IT leaders to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise solutions in a large-scale distributed software environment.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
• 3+ years of experience working on CI/CD Pipeline automation.
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile-based development environment.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business requirements and quality standards.
• Participate in solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability to ensure objectives are met.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Communicate with team members to align on technical decisions and roadmaps.
• Promote adoption of best practices, new technologies, and productivity tools.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops to foster learning.
• Collaborate with developers to implement complex features and enhance existing functionality.
