Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who will act as both a technical lead and individual contributor to build our next-generation platform for health-focused digital products.

The role requires strong design, architecture, and coding skills, with focus on scalable microservices, cloud initiatives, and AI-enabled features. Collaboration across teams and mentoring peers are key components of the position.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience delivering enterprise software in large-scale distributed environments.
5+ years of Java development experience.
5+ years of hands-on cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipeline automation.
3+ years of Agile-based development experience.
2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions that meet business needs and quality standards.
Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability.
Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and best practices.
Communicate and coordinate with team members to align on decisions and insights.
Adopt and advocate for new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
Guide and mentor junior developers to grow technically.
