Job summary

Datasite is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to build and operate production systems at scale. You will shape architecture for secure, reliable platforms and collaborate with Product, ML, and Services teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

You will lead with pragmatic architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive AI-assisted development practices while maintaining ownership of shipped software.

Qualifications

• Seasoned software engineer with production systems experience.
• Deep expertise in backend/platform/distributed systems or full-stack engineering.
• Expert programming ability in Python, Java, TypeScript or Kotlin.
• Extensive experience architecting and operating production APIs, services, data platforms, and event-driven architectures.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows.
• Excellent product sense and technical judgement with stakeholder influence.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to align teams on decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own outcomes for a product domain across multiple teams; define strategy and roadmaps.
• Define architecture for scalable APIs, data platforms, and event-driven systems; lead complex projects.
• Raise engineering standards with reusable platforms and documentation; reduce technical debt.
• Make high-leverage technical decisions with cross-organizational impact on security, performance, cost, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, design, ML, and client success to translate goals into multi-quarter plans.
• Define AI-assisted and agentic development adoption, with guardrails and ownership.
