Datasite is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape and scale our backend, platform, and AI-enabled features. You will own domain outcomes across multiple teams, set architectural direction for scalable APIs and data platforms, and partner with Product, Design, ML, and leadership to align roadmaps and execution.

The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic influence in a hybrid New York City or Minneapolis setting.

Qualifications

10+ years of software development experience in backend/platform/ distributed systems
Proven track record leading multi-team initiatives
Strong design and debugging skills across large-scale systems
Experience with Python/Java/TypeScript or similar languages
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling and workflows

Responsibilities

Own outcomes for a product domain or platform area across multiple teams
Define scalable API architecture, data platforms, and event-driven systems
Raise engineering standards and reduce technical debt across the org
Make high-leverage technical decisions with broad impact on architecture and security
Collaborate with Product, Design, ML, and leadership to align plans
Define governance for AI-assisted development and ownership of production decisions
Mentor senior engineers and contribute to architectural reviews
