Job summary

Altruist is hiring a Staff SRE to focus on the performance and resilience of scalable backend systems across product teams. You will collaborate with engineering leadership, PMs, and cross-functional teams to solve challenging technical problems and deliver robust solutions.

You will mentor teams on secure coding, implement observability with Open Telemetry, own incident response processes, and promote automated testing to ensure high-quality code.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building scalable backend services in fintech/SaaS.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and SQL databases.
• Experience with microservices, containers, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Mentor teams in secure coding and resilient software practices.
• Implement observability with Open Telemetry and establish SLOs.
• Own incident response design and post-incident followups.
• Promote automated testing to ensure high-quality code.
