Job summary

Xometry is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE organization. Lead cross-functional initiatives, define the long-term strategy for reliability and performance of our infrastructure and software systems, and mentor senior engineers to raise the bar on operational excellence.

You will architect scalable platforms on AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, implement observability with tools like Coralogix and Sentry, and drive security by design while collaborating with product

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in infrastructure management or backend software development.
• Demonstrated deep technical expertise in Python, JavaScript, or Unix Shell.
• Extensive experience with AWS across accounts and regions.
• Deep expertise with Terraform, Kubernetes, advanced CI/CD pipelines, and Docker/containerization best practices.
• Proven experience leading technical projects with cross-functional impact.
• Comfortable working in an operational environment, including acting as a point of escalation outside of on-call.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the resolution of the most complex cross-cutting technical challenges and drive them to completion.
• Define the long-term technical roadmap and strategy for core SRE platforms and services.
• Architect major engineering initiatives, balancing effort, risk, and long-term business impact.
• Set the standard for clean, efficient code and core system improvements.
• Collaborate across teams and communicate progress, blockers, and outcomes to stakeholders.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers and promote best practices for observability and security.
• Develop and maintain underlying platforms (AWS accounts, networking, Kubernetes clusters).
• Develop and maintain observability and monitoring tools and define SLOs/SLIs.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
