Job summary

Altruist is seeking an experienced SRE to join the Platform team in a hybrid role based in Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay Area. You will focus on performance and resilience of backend systems, collaborating with engineering leadership and product teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role emphasizes secure coding, observability, incident response, and automated testing. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in backend services, strong Java/Spring Boot skills, and a preference for fintech/SaaS

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services in B2B/Fintech/SaaS.
• Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL databases (Postgres, MySQL).
• Familiarity with containerization/orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred, practical experience also valued.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve backend services for scalability and resilience.
• Enhance observability and implement Open Telemetry, logging, and SLOs.
• Own Incident Response processes and follow-ups.
• Advocate automated testing and CI/CD practices to ensure code quality.
