Zscaler is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (Production Engineer) in San Jose. You will own the reliability of high-throughput bare-metal and cloud infrastructure, writing production-grade code and automation to keep tens of billions of daily transactions flowing globally.

The role emphasizes OS/network debugging, proactive reliability engineering, and close collaboration with Engineering and Networking teams. Hybrid onsite work applies.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required for this role.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML and AI-driven solutions.
• 5+ years in Site Reliability / Production Engineering on large-scale systems.
• Proven ability to write and debug code in Python/Go/Bash and write Ansible playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability across large-scale bare-metal Linux/BSD fleets and Kubernetes clusters.
• Lead full-cycle incident response with cross-stack troubleshooting using OS/network tools.
• Automate infrastructure lifecycle management with Ansible, Python, and Go.
• Own telemetry (metrics/logs/traces) with Prometheus/OpenTelemetry; define SLOs and reduce alert noise.
• Perform OS/kernel upgrades, capacity tuning, and ensure CI/CD validation before production.
