Zscaler is seeking a Sr. Production Engineer to help build and operate a reliable, scalable global platform.

This hybrid role (3 days/week on-site in the San Jose, CA or Bellevue, WA area) reports to the VP of Site Reliability Engineering and focuses on automation, observability, and fault-tolerant design across multi-cloud infrastructure. You will drive an automation-first culture, mature architectural standards, and reduce MTTR by improving monitoring and response workflows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of reliability, scalability, and availability management for large-scale production services.
• Strong networking, Linux/FreeBSD expertise, and distributed architecture experience.
• Experience in high-stakes incident management and 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Proficiency with ITIL frameworks to drive operability and problem management.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available, scalable infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, and bare metal.
• Drive an automation-first culture by writing code to reduce manual toil and build self-healing systems.
• Implement observability, define SLIs/SLOs, and manage error budgets.
