Job summary

Zscaler in San Jose, CA is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer (Quality & Automation) to lead quality engineering and test automation for our distributed cloud platform built on Zero Trust Architecture. You will drive AI-assisted testing strategies, work closely with developers and product teams, and own test plan generation, execution, and bug-fix validation to ensure five nines availability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field
5+ years of experience in network testing and automation
Experience testing cloud, security, and Datapath technologies
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, observability tools, and operational automation

Responsibilities

Gain an in-depth understanding of Zscaler cloud technologies, particularly Datapath, and leverage AI frameworks for test-driven development
Work closely with developers and product management to understand and provide inputs on new features
Lead AI-assisted test plan generation, execution, test automation, and bug fix validation
Contribute to core cloud operations, including phased software rollouts, feature enablement, alert handling, and capacity planning
Monitor, diagnose, and resolve complex system failures across distributed networks while conducting performance benchmarking and chaos testing
