Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, build, and deliver modern cloud-based applications within a distributed system environment on Google Cloud Platform.

You will contribute across architecture, system design, and implementation, mentoring engineers and driving technical leadership on high-impact projects that improve healthcare navigation and cost information for members and providers.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering enterprise-scale software solutions in distributed systems environments.
• Experience designing, building, and operating cloud-based enterprise solutions.
• Experience designing and developing modern microservices and scalable APIs.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable software within the Cost Estimation & Navigation AI portfolio.
• Drive architecture across distributed services, APIs, and platform components for scalability and security.
• Partner with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate business priorities into production solutions.
• Provide technical leadership by guiding implementation decisions and managing dependencies.
• Design, build, and enhance cloud-native applications and microservices using modern patterns.
• Ensure non-functional requirements like performance, availability, and security are met.
• Evaluate architectures and suggest improvements for reliability and cost efficiency.
• Lead PoC development and explore AI/GenAI capabilities relevant to the portfolio.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering excellence through reviews and guidance.
