Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to help build cloud-based solutions in the Cost Estimation & Navigation AI portfolio. You will design, implement, and deliver scalable services and microservices on Google Cloud, partnering with product, data science, and engineering teams.

You will mentor engineers, ensure security and regulatory compliance, and drive architecture decisions across distributed systems to support high-impact healthcare decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering enterprise-scale software in distributed systems.
• 5+ years in programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript.
• 5+ years designing and operating cloud-based enterprise solutions.
• 5+ years building modern microservices and scalable APIs.
• 3+ years with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps.
• 3+ years containerization and orchestration with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI/GenAI platforms in software products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software within the Cost Estimation & Navigation AI portfolio.
• Drive architecture and design across distributed services, APIs, and platform components.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate priorities into production-ready solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, guiding implementation decisions and tradeoffs.
• Design, build, and enhance cloud-native microservices and APIs.
• Define non-functional requirements: performance, availability, security, scalability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering excellence through reviews.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements.
