Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, build, and deliver cloud-based solutions within the Cost Estimation and Navigation AI portfolio on Google Cloud Platform. You will guide architecture across services, APIs, and platforms for scalability, resilience, and security.

You will mentor engineers and drive PoC efforts for AI capabilities, partnering with product, data science, and engineering teams to turn business priorities into production-ready

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering enterprise-scale software in distributed systems.
• 5+ years in Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript.
• 5+ years building cloud-based enterprise solutions.
• 5+ years designing microservices and scalable APIs.
• 3+ years with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps.
• 3+ years containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI/GenAI platforms in software products.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable software within the Cost Estimation & Navigation AI portfolio.
• Drive architecture across distributed services, APIs, and platform components for scalability, resiliency, security, and maintainability.
• Partner with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate priorities into production-ready technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, manage dependencies, and address engineering tradeoffs.
• Design, build, and enhance cloud-native apps, microservices, and APIs using modern patterns.
• Define non-functional requirements including performance, availability, failover, scalability, and security.
• Evaluate architectures and recommend improvements for reliability and cost efficiency.
• Lead PoC development and exploration for emerging technologies, including AI capabilities.
• Apply data/analytics knowledge, including orchestration, non-relational stores, caching, and large-scale service integration.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering excellence through reviews and guidance.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align teams.
• Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements for PII/PHI.
