Job summary

Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking a dedicated RN to supervise and support nursing staff on the floor, administer medications, and ensure high-quality resident care. The role emphasizes coordination with the RN Supervisor and unit leadership.

Fortified by a 120-bed setting and an emphasis on rehabilitation, applicants should be licensed in New York, eager to work with geriatric residents, and capable of collaborative, compassionate care. Contact HR for details.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Licensed & registered in good standing in New York State as an RN.
• Experience with geriatric patients is desirable; new grad RN welcome.
• Desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled.
• Cooperation and enthusiasm to create a rehabilitation-focused environment.
• Ability to communicate well verbally with residents, families, and staff.
• Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process in resident care; administers medications and treatments; documents on the nursing unit.
• Reports findings of ongoing observations to the Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, or Unit Manager.
• Demonstrates knowledge of test/lab values and delivers direct resident care per policies.
• Identify and respond timely to patient concerns and needs.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills to ensure quality patient care.
• Prepare resident assignments considering needs and staff competency; monitor activity flow; document for CNAs.
• RN punctuality and proper notification for lateness or absenteeism.

• Relief Supervisors work as floor nurses and are designated as back ups to the RN Supervisor and may be asked to Supervise as needed on their shift.
• Registered Nurse, RN utilizes the nursing process in the care of designated Residents, administers medications & treatments to residents, & documents appropriately on assigned nursing unit
• Registered Nurse, RN Reports findings of ongoing observations/assessments to the designated Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, &/or Unit Manager
• Registered Nurse, RN demonstrates knowledge of basic test/lab collection values, deliver direct resident care consistent with the policies/procedures & Resident Bill of Rights, in combination with demonstrated clinical skills/knowledge
• Identify/respond timely to patient concerns/needs
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills necessary to ensure appropriate quality patient care
• Registered Nurse, RN will prepare resident assignments considering the category of needs of the patient & competency of personnel, monitor/evaluate the flow of activity & delivery of patient care provided (positioning, bathing, etc.) & assure documentation records (ADLs, meal intake, etc.) are completed for CNAs
• Registered Nurse, RN is punctual and/or provides proper notification for lateness or absenteeism

With a focus on rehabilitation and recovery, our skilled team of therapists and healthcare professionals assist residents in achieving optimal health and well‑being.
