Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a staff-level reliability engineer to oversee reliability of new technology introductions and mass production, collaborating with global teams and Fab to drive reliability across CMOS nodes.

You will lead a team, plan evaluations for NTI/NPI, perform design experiments, analyze time-to-fail data, and push improvements across process integration; you will also contribute to publications and participate in external conferences.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Engineering or Physics (preferred Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering).
• 10+ years of related experience in semiconductor process, product or device engineering.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics or reliability degradation mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to direct a team for reliability improvement activities.
• Identify, plan, and execute reliability evaluations for NTI/NPI, technology qualification, process changes and abnormal events.
• Manage solutions to integration problems across Fab, PIE, Device, Product Test to improve reliability.
• Design, execute, and analyze designed experiments to improve semiconductor fabrication processes.
• Utilize lessons learned to improve reliability margin; define new process integration for new technology nodes.
• Utilize statistical tools and reliability models to extract lifetime from time-to-fail data.
• Represent Samsung technology leadership by authoring papers for symposiums and journals and leadership roles at external conferences.
• Navigate both the industrial and academic landscape to be a knowledge center of device integration and technology development for reliability.
• Example of Reliability Degradation Mechanisms: TDDB, HCI, BTI, EM, SM, TC.
