Job summary

Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, seeks a Staff Relations Manager to design and oversee staff relations, policy development, investigations, and leadership development. This in-person, year-round role partners with managers and HR to align with our values and objectives, fostering a positive, inclusive workplace.

The role drives engagement, compliance, and professional growth across a diverse workforce, including local and seasonal staff, with emphasis on conflict resolution and change

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; HR certification preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on staff relations.
• Proven experience handling staff relations cases and conducting workplace investigations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, mediation, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (ADA, FMLA, EEO).
• High integrity and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive Staff Relations Program that supports healthy, transparent communication between staff and leadership.
• Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, engagement, and open feedback.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to review, develop, and communicate workplace policies and procedures; ensure compliance and clear expectations.
• Lead ADA interactive processes, manage accommodation requests, and ensure compliant resolutions.
• Serve as a primary contact for workplace grievances and investigations; document outcomes.
• Lead recognition efforts like Acts of Excellence to acknowledge staff contributions.
• Provide guidance to managers on conflict mediation, staff engagement, and performance management; collaborate on learning and development to address training needs.
• Oversee Learning & Development programs and ensure alignment with organizational goals and culture.
