Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Staff Systems Engineer (Air-to-Ground) in Linthicum, MD. On-site role requiring a Secret clearance and SAP eligibility, you will lead radar system architectures, drive system-level requirements, and guide cross‑functional teams across RF, processing, software, and platform domains.

You will interact with customers, support business development, and mentor engineers while ensuring rigorous verification and risk management throughout development cycles.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
• Experience with Radar Air-to-Ground applications and modeling.
• Experience leading systems engineering for radar or RF sensor systems.
• Experience with radar modeling tools and end-to-end performance assessments.
• Strong communication and leadership for senior reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of radar system architectures for air-to-ground missions.
• Define and partition system-level requirements and interfaces.
• Direct and review trade studies on waveforms and antenna design.
• Lead radar performance modeling and simulations.
• Guide development of Air-to-Ground concepts and algorithms.
• Interface with customers to present technical approaches and roadmaps.
• Support business development and capture activities.
• Mentor engineers in radar systems engineering.
• Promote engineering discipline and traceability.
