Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (Air-to-Ground) to join a dynamic SEIT team. The role focuses on radar system requirements, interface control documents, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver next-generation sensing capabilities.

You will use MATLAB/Python/C/C++ for analyses, contribute to SRR/PDR/CDR, and work on lab and field tests with RF, hardware and software engineers. On-site, with Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience or advanced degrees with minimal experience using radar/engineering concepts.
• US citizenship and active Secret clearance required.
• Experience in radar systems and modeling with MATLAB/Python/C/C++.
• Familiarity with system engineering concepts and MBSE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze radar system requirements and document allocations and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain system specifications and ICDs.
• Support SRR/PDR/CDR with analyses, figures and documentation.
• Perform basic radar analyses using MATLAB or Python (range, resolution, SNR).
• Assist in radar concepts and algorithms development under senior guidance.
• Plan and execute lab and field tests of radar systems.
• Support data collection, reduction and verification against requirements.
• Collaborate with RF, hardware and software engineers to ensure consistent requirements.
• Prepare engineering reports and presentations.
