Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Linthicum, MD, is seeking a Systems Engineer (Air-to-Ground) to support SEIT across major programs. The position is 100% on-site and requires U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret clearance and SAP eligibility.

Responsibilities include requirements analysis for radar systems, ICDs, test planning, and collaboration with RF, hardware, and software engineers to ensure proper implementation of system requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field with 2+ years experience; Master’s with 0 years; may substitute 4 years experience for a degree.
• U.S. Citizenship and current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance required; ability to obtain SAP.
• Experience with radar, RF systems or advanced sensors; MATLAB/Python/C/C++ modeling and analysis.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and allocate documentation for radar system and subsystems (SAR/ISAR/GMTI).
• Develop and maintain system/subsystem specs and interface control documents (ICDs).
• Prepare analyses, figures, and documentation for SRR, PDR, CDR reviews.
• Conduct radar performance analyses using MATLAB or Python (range, resolution, SNR).
• Support radar concepts/algorithms development under senior guidance.
• Plan and execute lab and field tests of radar systems and subsystems.
• Assist in test data collection, reduction, and basic analysis to verify requirements.
• Collaborate with RF, hardware, software, and other systems engineers to ensure consistency.
