Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a Staff R&D Software Engineer to join our fast-growing AI team in Denver, CO. You’ll research AI techniques, prototype ideas, and ship production features that scale with data. You’ll define technical direction across multiple teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to hiring.

Our stack includes Python, Java, SQL, React, Kubernetes, and modern data warehouses. We offer a hybrid work model with two days in the office each week, competitive compensation, and RSU stock awards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of programming experience across Python and/or Java.
• Strong ability to influence across multiple teams and define technical direction.
• Experience reading AI/ML research and turning findings into production prototypes.
• Comfort with full-stack scope including backend, frontend, SRE, and QA.

Responsibilities

• Research retrieval, reasoning, and AI techniques to guide AI roadmap.
• Prototype ideas and ship production-grade features.
• Define cross-team technical direction and ensure architectural coherence.
• Build and maintain backend and frontend systems for the AI product.
• Drive reliability, on-call, and incident response for the platform.
• Mentor engineers and participate in interview processes.
