Job summary

Fivetran, Inc. seeks a Senior Staff R&D Software Engineer to join the Fivetran AI team in Denver. You will explore emerging AI techniques, prototype ideas rapidly, and ship production features across backend and frontend systems.

You will define technical direction across Fivetran AI, mentor engineers, and contribute to cross‑department planning while maintaining reliability and high-quality software in a startup‑like environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of programming experience across Python and/or Java, with backend and frontend capabilities.
• Willingness to work across full stack and own technical direction.
• Experience mentoring senior staff and influencing across departments.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging AI techniques worth pursuing and set the technical roadmap.
• Prototype ideas and ship production-grade features.
• Define cross‑department technical direction and resolve architectural tradeoffs.
• Build and maintain backend and frontend systems for the AI product.
• Own production reliability, on-call and SRE practices.
• Lead engineering quality, testing, and QA practices across the department.
