Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a Staff R&D Software Engineer to join the AI team in Denver. You will research, prototype, and ship production-grade features across backend and frontend, including the Agents Schema and Context Catalog UI.

You’ll drive technical direction for multiple teams and own reliability and QA efforts in a startup-like environment. You’ll work with Python, Java, SQL, dbt, LLMs, and data warehouses, with a strong emphasis on end-to-end ownership and high impact delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of programming experience across Python and/or Java.
• Experience with SQL databases and data warehouses.
• Ability to work across backend and frontend, with comfort in SRE/QA aspects.
• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Research and prototype AI techniques for Fivetran AI roadmap.
• Turn high-level direction into concrete production features.
• Define cross-team technical direction and architecture decisions.
• Develop backend and frontend systems for Agents Schema and Context Catalog UI.
• Advance AISQL capabilities and ensure reliable production
• Maintain production reliability, incident response, and on-call duties
• Contribute to testing and QA practices and lead by example
• Mentor engineers and participate in interview processes
