Job summary

Northbeam is seeking a Staff-level Software Engineer focused on backend and distributed systems. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and shape an incrementality platform and near real-time data ingestion while collaborating with data scientists, PMs, and designers.

You should have 8+ years of building distributed backends in Python, strong system-architecture skills, and experience partnering across teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and building distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs, and/or data processing systems in Python.
• Deep experience owning system architecture, including tradeoffs at scale.
• Track record partnering with product managers, designers, and data scientists to shape what gets built, not only how.

Responsibilities

• Architect the new incrementality product into a reliable experimentation platform.
• Define near-real-time data ingestion and processing patterns.
• Shape AI-powered workflows for marketers to evaluate performance and act on insights.
• Lead work on connection-state systems and partner ecosystem across data ingestion and exports.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team's architectural standards.
