Job summary

Northbeam is seeking a senior-level software engineer focused on backend development to own distributed systems, APIs, and data processing. You’ll split time between backend and frontend work, helping scale our real-time data and AI-driven workflows for marketers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years building distributed systems and experience in Python, APIs, and data processing, with familiarity across frontend tech such as React/TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs and/or data processing systems written in Python.
• Experience designing system architecture and working with product managers, designers, and data scientists.
• Startup experience or breadth across backend, frontend, pipelines, and infrastructure is a plus.
• Ability to navigate complex datasets and interconnected tables to investigate issues and dependencies.
• Frontend exposure with React/TypeScript; deep frontend specialization is not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop near-real-time ingestion and processing capabilities beyond batch workflows.
• Build AI-powered workflows to evaluate performance and act on insights.
• Improve connection-state systems and extend the partner ecosystem across ingestion and exports.
• Collaborate across backend, frontend, pipelines, and infrastructure as needed.
