Job summary

Flexport is seeking a Staff Program Manager, Strategic Initiatives (Automation) to own the next generation of Fulfillment automation. You will architect and implement automation, build ROI models, and drive capital projects from floor to leadership-executed results.

You will collaborate across operations, product, engineering, and finance, writing SQL to diagnose bottlenecks and validating new workflows on the warehouse floor. The role demands hands-on problem solving and end‑to‑end ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in fulfillment, logistics, or operations strategy with exposure to high-volume networks and automation.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Proven end-to-end ownership of large-scale capital programs: business case, implementation, ROI tracking.
• Hands-on automation experience with ASRS, robotics, goods-to-person systems, or conveyor tech.
• Strong financial modeling: build, stress-test, and defend ROI models to leadership.
• Extremely strong technical skills: SQL, Excel/Sheets, BI tools, Python for modeling.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in ambiguity, builds from scratch, action-oriented.
• Executive-level communication: influence stakeholders from site operators to CFO.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end automation initiatives from problem definition to ROI post-launch, with no handoffs.
• Build and own ROI models for automation and capital projects across the network.
• Track actuals vs. projections and close the loop with leadership and finance.
• Define automation requirements from operational data and manage timelines to go-live readiness.
