Job summary

Render is seeking a Staff Product Manager to own the vision and roadmap for its datastores portfolio, with Postgres at the center. You will define what a modern managed database experience looks like and how agents and state patterns influence product design.

You will drive the technical direction for Render Postgres and collaborate with infrastructure engineering to shape architecture, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Product Management, focused on databases, data infrastructure, developer tools, or platform products.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills.
• Familiarity with Postgres—architecture, operational model, ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with Postgres internals, replication tooling, or extension ecosystem.
• Experience as a database engineer, DBA, or infrastructure engineer.
• Experience building AI agents or the data infrastructure that powers them.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Render’s datastores anchored on Postgres.
• Drive the technical direction for Render Postgres and data layer with Eng teams.
• Engage with customers and product teams to understand data needs.
• Set standards for developer data experience with sensible defaults.
• Balance reliability work with product and business needs and negotiate tradeoffs.
