Job summary

Credit Karma is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical vision for a domain within our service mesh and edge tier. You will design, implement, and evolve production systems that scale to millions of users, guiding architecture decisions, writing robust code, and mentoring peers to raise the team’s overall technical capability.

You will drive reliability, performance, and operational excellence through thoughtful design and clear coding standards.

Qualifications

Experience owning technical vision end-to-end in a high-traffic production environment.
Deep experience designing, building, and owning production systems code in Go with solid architectural judgment.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and service mesh data planes is a meaningful signal.

Responsibilities

Own the technical vision and strategy for a domain within our service mesh and edge tier from design through implementation, rollout, and long-term health.
Lead the technical design of complex systems, weighing tradeoffs and foreseeing long-term implications.
Establish and encourage engineering best practices within the team, driving operational excellence.
Solve ambiguous, cross-cutting problems and identify productivity improvements across teams.
Orchestrate work by sequencing dependencies and surfacing risks early.
