Job summary

Intuit Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical vision for a key portion of Credit Karma's service mesh and edge infrastructure.

You will drive design through production, setting engineering standards and mentoring teams to deliver scalable platforms at high fault tolerance. You will lead complex system designs, influence long-term health, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure reliable, scalable performance in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience owning the technical vision for a domain or system end-to-end in a high-traffic production environment.
• Deep experience designing, building, and owning production systems code in Go and understanding core patterns (controllers, reconcilers, event loops).
• Experience operating large-scale distributed systems in production (Kubernetes, Nomad, ECS).
• Track record of establishing engineering best practices and raising the bar for the team.
• Track record of coaching engineers through code review, design feedback, and mentorship.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and stakeholders outside your immediate team.
• Rapid ramp into unfamiliar domains and shipping meaningful work within months.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and strategy for a domain within our service mesh and edge tier from design through implementation, rollout, and health.
• Lead the technical design of complex systems, weighing tradeoffs and long-term implications.
• Establish and encourage engineering best practices within the team and define operational excellence.
• Solve ambiguous, cross-cutting problems and identify productivity improvements beyond your work.
• Orchestrate work by sequencing dependencies, surfacing risks early, and adapting plans as requirements shift.
• Partner with adjacent teams and stakeholders when your domain touches their systems.
• Coach engineers with actionable feedback to help them work more independently.
