Job summary

Calendly is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to advance our self‑service infrastructure platform. You will design and build tools, guide application development, and apply deep cloud infra expertise to support scalable services.

You will lead initiatives, mentor teams, and collaborate with internal customers to meet engineering goals. Strong Go experience, Kubernetes mastery, and a passion for teaching are essential.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software development
• 4 years of experience leading technical projects
• Eagerness to teach, share knowledge, and mentor others
• Comfortable working directly with internal customers to understand needs and collaborate on solutions
• Creative problem solving, keen eye for detail, high quality solutions
• Strong Go development experience; writing APIs to build and manage cloud infrastructure
• Expert knowledge of cloud native patterns on Kubernetes (Controllers/Operators)
• Experience building applications on Temporal is a plus
• Deep experience designing, building, and running highly available production applications
• Understanding of Linux OS and systems engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (especially GCP), distributed systems, and observability (Datadog)
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
• Authorized to work in the United States (Calendly does not sponsor)
