Job summary

Calendly is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to advance its infrastructure platform using Go and Kubernetes. The role emphasizes building self-service tooling for product developers and delivering on an ambitious infrastructure roadmap.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software development.
4+ years of experience leading technical projects.
An eagerness and drive to teach, share knowledge, and mentor others.
Comfortable working directly with internal customers to understand needs and collaborate on solutions.
Creative problem-solving with attention to detail to deliver high-quality solutions.
Strong Go (Golang) development experience; building APIs for cloud infrastructure.
Expert knowledge of Kubernetes patterns and operators for cloud-native apps.
Experience with Temporal is a plus.
Deep experience designing, building, and running highly available production apps.
Understanding of Linux and systems engineering fundamentals.
Cloud infrastructure (especially GCP), distributed systems, and observability (Datadog).

Responsibilities

Designing and building tools and applications to extend Calendly’s infrastructure platform.
Evaluating and guiding the development of applications across the organization.
Exercising deep expertise in cloud infrastructure concepts and patterns.
Offering and evangelizing patterns for cloud-native applications development.
Fostering a collaborative environment of learning and knowledge dissemination.
