Job summary

Coinbase is hiring Staff Software Engineers for the Developer Infrastructure group in Platform. You will own tools and systems used by thousands of Coinbase engineers, including CI/build and deployment orchestration, driving reliable production operations.

You will set technical direction for complex problems, lead cross-team initiatives, and mentor engineers while delivering scalable platform improvements that reduce build times and improve deployment speed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go or a comparable systems language.
• Experience with CI/CD, build systems, or deployment tooling.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on cross-team initiatives.
• Deep operational expertise with reliable production systems.

Responsibilities

• Own core developer infrastructure platforms, including CI/build systems and deployment orchestration across the full lifecycle.
• Identify high-leverage problems and shape concrete technical roadmaps with dependent teams.
• Drive improvements to build/CI wall time, deploy speed, and developer feedback latency.
• Lead cross-cutting initiatives end to end, including large-scale platform migrations.
• Raise the reliability bar by owning SLOs, observability, and on-call, enabling fast recovery.
• Partner with engineers, EMs, and leadership to shape technical strategy and mentor engineers.
