Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Pipeline Engineer to join project teams delivering world-class designs for transmission and distribution pipelines. You will guide design through concept to completion, adjust drawings, and ensure compliance with codes while supporting budget and client needs.

Key responsibilities include technical design, data compilation, project reporting, field measurements, and collaboration with project managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program, plus 3 years of pipeline engineering experience.
• Or Bachelor's in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology with FE exam completed and 3 years of pipeline experience.
• Or Master's in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with 2 years of pipeline experience.
• Strong knowledge of standard pipeline engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
• Strong attention to detail, collaboration, and organization.
• EIT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for pipeline projects (transmission & distribution).
• Design pipeline components as required by project managers.
• Apply pipeline engineering concepts, codes, and procedures.
• Research and compile project data and write specifications.
