Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Columbus is seeking a Staff Pipeline Engineer to design pipelines across conceptual to detailed phases, modify drawings, and ensure project requirements. You will compile data, perform field measurements, and support project managers throughout design and construction.

The role emphasizes CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF), strong communication, and analytical thinking, with experience in transmission and distribution pipelines.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required with 3 years of pipeline experience.
• EIT certification or FE path is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline engineering techniques and standards.
• Proficient in CAD and design software.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for pipeline projects.
• Design pipeline components to meet project needs.
• Update drawings in CAD software and verify corrections.
• Compile data, studies, and reports for project managers.
• Conduct field inspections and measurements.
