Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Staff Pharmacist PRN to support inpatient operations. You will perform distribution, documentation and compounding to meet patient and staff needs, ensuring accurate medication therapy across age groups.

The role includes supervising pharmacy technicians, maintaining competencies, and delivering patient-focused care activities across hospital services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a bachelor’s or higher in pharmacy.
• Georgia licensed pharmacist upon hire is required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents and compounds medications to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, dispenses and monitors medication therapy across age groups (infants to geriatrics).
• Supervises pharmacy technician activities and ensures competency and ongoing development.
• Performs patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Responsibilities

Staff Pharmacist, PRN, Piedmont Columbus Midtown

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
