Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a Staff Nurse for the Med Surge Float Pool. This full-time Days position supports a designated group of patients across units, delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care within the Mount Sinai care model.

The Clinical Nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, performs the nursing process, and educates patients and families on plan of care and transition, nursing responsibilities, and post-discharge needs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing program. BSN preferred or ADN with BSN in progress.
• Current RN license in New York State.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing or float pool is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care using the nursing process based on theory, research, and standards.
• Assesses patient needs and applies critical thinking in care management.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate the plan of care.
• Educates patients and families about their plan of care and transition needs.
• Executes charge and unit coordination duties as assigned.
• Documents accurately to support quality and compliance.
