Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to support ruggedized electronic equipment for military applications. You will join the Hardware Engineering organization, lead engineering teams, and interface with customers and program management to deliver reliable hardware on schedule.

You will manage scope, budgets, risk, and apply innovative design solutions across the product lifecycle while coaching junior engineers in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience, Master’s with 10 years, Ph.D. with 8 years; additional 4 years may substitute for degree.
• U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain Secret clearance prior to start.
• 12 years of experience in ruggedized electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical hardware development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• Develop ruggedized electro-mechanical hardware for military/defense applications.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and risk across multiple workstreams.
• Collaborate with IPT, customers, and other engineering disciplines to meet requirements.
