Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corporation in Baltimore, MD seeks a Staff Mechanical Engineer to support ruggedized electronic equipment development, build, and test validation for military applications. You will work in Hardware Engineering within a high performing team focused on secure, affordable, integrated systems.

Responsibilities include leading engineering teams, interfacing with peers and stakeholders, and managing schedules and budgets while pursuing innovative solutions across the product life

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in design and development of ruggedized electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical hardware
• 12 years of expertise with mechanical CAD design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
• 12 years of demonstrated application of innovative solutions to complex problems
• 12 years of experience leading and reviewing technical work products of peers
• 12 years of experience presenting at design reviews and customer/stakeholder briefings

Responsibilities

• Support development, build, and test validation of ruggedized electronic equipment for military applications
• Lead engineering teams and interface with other disciplines, program management, and customers
• Manage schedule and budget for assigned projects and communicate issues impacting goals
• Contribute to product life cycle across requirements analysis, design, manufacture, and environmental testing
• Coach and transfer knowledge to improve organizational capability
