Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, UT is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead a team of engineers on the Sentinel Program. You will collaborate across Systems Engineering, Global Supply Chain, and IPTs to develop designs and analyses for installation and assembly, ensuring milestone readiness.

The role requires a STEM degree and a U.S. Government Secret clearance, with 5+ years leading technical work, CAD/PLM experience, and GD&T expertise.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of related experience, a Master’s with 10 years, or a PhD with 8 years
• Requires active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain SAP approval
• Experience with CAD modeling and PLM tools
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Minimum 5 years leading technical rigor on a project
• Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic driven systems

Responsibilities

• Drive on-time delivery of design and analysis work for the Sentinel program
• Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and mentor engineers of varying levels
• Collaborate across Systems Engineering, System Test, and Global Supply Chain
• Review installation and assembly designs and hardware requirements
• Balance quality standards with rapid procurement and prototyping
• Establish relationships with customers, subcontractors, and industry partners
• Oversee fabrication of custom components for system integration
• Analyze test data to characterize system performance and support milestones
