Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Staff to translate early designs into producible hardware and guide products from development to full-rate production.

You will lead production-readiness activities, develop work instructions, and perform cost-reduction analyses while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with cross-functional teams. A Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing, Systems, or related).
• Manufacturing-engineering experience in aerospace/defense; hands-on shop-floor; experience moving designs to production.
• Experience authoring and maintaining work instructions and manufacturing plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present data to non-technical audiences and influence leaders.
• Proven DFM/DFC experience and knowledge of machining, assembly, electrical integration, and process development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build cross-functional teams, and deliver results in fast-paced settings.
• Willingness to travel to MFC sites, supplier facilities, and LM locations (~50%).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Convert early-stage designs into producible, cost-effective hardware.
• Transition new products and processes into manufacturing, reducing risk and schedule impact.
• Lead early-production readiness activities and provide real-time feedback during assembly and flight-test prep.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and MRL artifacts.
• Conduct cost-reduction and affordability analyses and present to IPT meetings.
• Mentor junior engineering staff and drive cross-functional program collaboration.
